Green Wall and Vertical Garden Systems
Living walls engineered for real spaces
Green Wall and Vertical Garden Systems turn flat, underused vertical surfaces into a continuous canvas of living plants. Every installation begins with an on-site assessment of your wall's structural capacity, available light, humidity, and foot traffic — a lobby wall in downtown Charleston has very different requirements than a quiet reading nook in a private residence.
What's included in a typical installation:
- A custom-engineered mounting system sized to your wall and building type
- A closed-loop irrigation system with moisture sensors, so plants receive exactly the water they need
- A curated plant palette selected for your wall's specific light and humidity profile
- Waterproofing and drainage detailing that protects the wall behind the installation
- A first-year care plan covering fertilization, pruning, and plant replacement
We favor tropical and semi-tropical species that tolerate indoor conditions well, including pothos, philodendron, bird's nest fern, and peperomia, mixed for texture and color variation across the wall. For walls with limited natural light, we integrate low-profile supplemental grow lighting so plant health never depends on a sunny exposure.
Structural safety is non-negotiable. Before any installation begins, we confirm the wall assembly can bear the mounted weight when fully saturated, and we coordinate with your building manager or contractor whenever the mounting system needs to attach to load-bearing elements.
The green wall in our atrium has become the first thing every visitor mentions. It's thriving eighteen months in, and the quarterly visits keep it looking exactly as sharp as installation day.
Ongoing maintenance is available on a monthly or quarterly schedule and includes irrigation system checks, pruning, pest monitoring, and prompt replacement of any plant that isn't thriving, so the wall you install is the wall you keep. Most projects move from initial consultation to finished installation within four to six weeks, depending on wall size and any custom fabrication the mounting system requires.
